Oklahoma State holds on to top N.C. State 74-68

Greg Gantt - Misses fourth straightGantt (hernia surgery) did not take the court in Wednesday's 74-58 loss to Oklahoma State, effectively missing his fourth consecutive contest.
ImpactGantt's absence has been tough for the Wolfpack to cope with, as the frontcourt depth he was expected to provide is needed even more desperately following Manny Bates' season-ending shoulder surgery. NC State has instead relied on Ebenezer Dowuona -- who fouled out of this game -- as well as fellow underclassmen Jaylon Gibson and Ernest Ross. Gantt isn't necessarily a traditional center that will fix all these problems upon his eventual return, but he'll put a much-needed dent in the issue with conference play around the corner.

Terquavion Smith - Another double-digit scoring effortSmith posted 11 points (4-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 0-1 FT), three rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in 24 minutes during Tuesday's 79-65 win over Central Connecticut State.
ImpactSmith has been forced to play off the bench at the beginning of the season but that hasn't been a problem for the freshman, who has scored in double digits in each of his first three outings of the campaign.

Dereon Seabron - Shines against CCSUSeabron logged 24 points (8-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 8-10 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and three steals in 33 minutes during Tuesday's 79-65 victory over Central Connecticut State.
ImpactSeabron finished as the Wolfpack's main scorer by a wide margin, and there's no question the sophomore has been dazzling early on -- he has scored at least 18 points in each of his three appearances while also grabbing at least nine boards each time out. That alone makes him worth keeping close tabs in all formats going forward.

Cam Hayes - Plays through crampingHayes had 10 points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), one rebound, three assists and one steal over 22 minutes during Tuesday's 79-65 win over Central Connecticut State.
ImpactHayes saw less than his usual workload in this contest, which Rivals.com reports was due to ongoing cramping issues. Still, he was one of three Wolfpack players in double figures as the team improved to 3-0 on the season. Freshman Terquavion Smith saw some extra point guard minutes off the bench as a result of Hayes being limited, but given the mild nature of the injury, Hayes should be set to serve as the primary ball handler moving forward.
