Gabe Osabuohien - Nine boards off benchOsabuohien came off the bench and had six points (3-5 FG, 0-2 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal in the win over Oakland.
ImpactIsaiah Cottrell got the start at center in the opener, but Osabuohien was significantly more effective. He had a team-high in rebounds and was all over the place on defense. Osabuohien also played the third-most minutes with 24. Whether or not he starts shouldn't matter, as Osabuohien should be the third-best fantasy option on this team this season for his ability to rebound and play great defense.

Sean McNeil - 11 points in season openerMcNeil had 11 points (4-9 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists, and a steal in Tuesday's win over Oakland.
ImpactMcNeil and Taz Sherman played 35 and 37 minutes respectively in the opener. Those two should form a dynamic backcourt duo this season with West Virginia in a bit of a transition year. McNeil is on of the best shooters in the Big 12 and will look to light it up from deep against Pittsburgh on Friday.

Taz Sherman - Game-high 18 points in openerSherman tallied a game-high 18 points (7-18 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and added five assists, four rebounds, and three steals in Tuesday's win over Oakland.
ImpactSherman did not shoot the ball great, particularly from range but was able to do enough to help West Virginia grind out a win. With Miles McBride now gone, Sherman is in position for a huge season leading a relatively inexperienced Mountaineer roster. Pittsburgh is next up on Friday.

Kedrian Johnson - Draws start at point guardJohnson will draw the start in Tuesday's season opener against Oakland.
ImpactA few offseason reports had indicated Johnson had a chance to start at point guard, and it appears that's officially the direction coach Bob Huggins will go in. The 6-3 senior will be asked to take a major step forward from the 1.3 points he put up across 7.3 minutes in 26 appearances off the bench last season.

James Okonkwo - Hoping to get on court soonOkonkwo (foot) is hoping to return to the court soon, SI.com reports.
ImpactOkonkwo suffered a foot injury a month ago and was expected to miss the first part of the season. The freshman was impressive in workouts over the summer and should have a chance to contribute once healthy and not have to redshirt.
