Texas basketball coaching search: Who are top candidates to replace Chris Beard?
Caleb Asberry - Plays 27 minutes in reliefAsberry finished Tuesday's 65-57 loss to Kansas State with 15 points (5-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 27 minutes.
ImpactAsberry saw a jump in playing time Tuesday with fellow senior guard Avery Anderson limited to just 12 minutes due to a lingering wrist injury. As a result, the 6-foot-3 Asberry posted season highs in field-goal attempts and points. This also helped make up for the poor shooting nights from fellow guards Bryce Thompson (2-for-13 FG) and John-Michael Wright (1-for-9 FG), though it wasn't enough to match another star performance from Kansas State guard Markquis Nowell. Asberry has now averaged 7.9 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists over 14 games with the Cowboys, and he should be first in line for increased usage so long as Anderson is limited.

David N'Guessan - Sits out TuesdayN'Guessan (foot) did not appear in Tuesday's game against Oklahoma State.
ImpactN'Guessan, who was doubtful for the contest, was inactive during Tuesday's matchup with Oklahoma State. The 6-foot-9 junior has missed the last four games with a foot injury, and he will remain questionable heading into Saturday's matchup with TCU.

Markquis Nowell - Continues massive productionNowell closed Tuesday's 65-57 win over Oklahoma State with 20 points (6-12 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and two steals over 38 minutes.
ImpactNowell has now put up at least 20 points in each of the Wildcats' first four conference games. The 5-foot-8 was able to do this without taking double-digit free-throw attempts for the first time during this span. Nowell has also converted 50 percent of his 8.0 attempts from beyond the arc against Big-12 foes. Nowell's solid efficiency combined with his conference-high 8.8 assists per game should continue to make him one of the nation's most productive guards while playing a career high in minutes (35.1).

Avery Anderson - Sustains wrist injuryAnderson (wrist) is dealing with a wrist injury suffered during Saturday's showdown with Texas, Jacob Unruh of The Oklahoman reports.
ImpactAnderson was able to play in Tuesday's matchup with Kansas State, but he played an uncharacteristically low 12 minutes in the contest. The 6-foot-3 senior was likely limited during Tuesday's matchup with the Wildcats, and it is unknown if he will see a similar restriction during Saturday's showdown with Baylor.

Moussa Cisse - Out at Kansas StateCisse (ankle) sat out the Cowboys' 65-57 loss Tuesday at Kansas State.
ImpactInstead of being limited, Cisse did not play at all. Cisse's next opportunity to return is when the Cowboys visit Baylor on Saturday.
