Pac-12 Media Day: No ill will toward departing UCLA, USC

Jordan Pope - Expected to start at PG Coach Wayne Tinkle said that Pope is likely to begin the season as the starting point guard, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact The freshman will be called upon to handle a lot right out of the gate with backcourt transfers Christian Wright and Justin Rochelin both going to miss at least the first month of the season with knee injuries. The Beavers will be very thin in the backcourt, making Pope a sneaky play in all fantasy formats early in the season.

Christian Wright - Hoping for early 2023 return Coach Wayne Tinkle said that he hopes Wright (knee) can return by early 2023, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact Wright has been slowly progressing from meniscus surgery back in August. Oregon State will have to rely on guys like Jordan Pope and Dexter Akanno more early in season. Justin Rochelin is another backcourt player that will miss at least the first month of the season as well. Wright is a transfer from Georgia who figured to be in a position to make a big leap in production. We should get more updates on his recovery in the coming weeks.

Justin Rochelin - Hoping to return by mid-December Coach Wayne Tinkle said that he hopes Rochelin (knee) can return by mid-December, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact Rochelin committed to Oregon State back in May after spending his first year with Arizona State. The Beavers have some injuries they are trying to navigate early in the season, but when Rochelin returns he should mix into the rotation on the wing.

Christian Wright - No timeline for return yet Oregon State head coach Wayne Tinkle said that Wright (knee) remains without a timeline for a return, Jesse Sowa of the Corvallis Gazette-Times reports.

Impact Wright suffered a torn meniscus in August and has since underwent surgery to repair the injury. However, the sophomore guard remains without a return date, meaning either Jordan Pope or Dexter Akanno is slated to begin the campaign as the team's starting point guard. Wright transferred from Georgia back in April after averaging 5.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in his first collegiate season.
