Impact Banchero has been dealing with some off-court distraction of late, but he was back in form Monday to set a new career high, as well as his first 20-plus point effort since the season opener. Even in negative game scripts, the freshman has been consistent, scoring in double figures each time out. The Citadel kept this game just close enough for Duke to not be comfortable enough to empty its bench, hence the heavy minutes for the potential lottery pick.

Banchero leads the Blue Devils in usage rate through the season's first three games and is expected to be a lottery pick in next summer's NBA Draft. His absence would open up more shots for a lot of other Duke players, though it is worth noting the Blue Devils will still be heavily favored in their next three contests, with or without the star forward. The real question is whether any prospective disciplinary action would last through the Nov. 26 matchup against a No. 1-ranked Gonzaga team.
