Mouhamadou Gueye - Solid all-around effortGueye mustered 10 points (5-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal over 32 minutes during Friday's 74-59 loss to West Virginia.
ImpactGueye only mustered two points in the season opener, but he improved drastically in this one -- and also had far more touches, with nine shots attempted as opposed to just five in the season opener. Gueye averaged 9.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game last season, and he has the expectation of putting up better numbers this year with what appears to be a starting role locked down in the Panthers' frontcourt.

John Hugley - 17 points with six boardsHugley recorded 17 points (7-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes during Friday's 74-59 loss to West Virginia.
ImpactHugley couldn't repeat what he accomplished in the season opener when he finished with 27 points, but he had another strong outing while looking very efficient from a shooting perspective. It's only been two games, but there are glimpses that lead to believe Hugley is in line for a big year as one of Pittsburgh's main scoring threats.

Malik Curry - Efficient off bench FridayCurry recorded 10 points (5-5 FG, 0-1 FT), three assists and two steals in 12 minutes during Friday's 74-59 victory over Pittsburgh.
ImpactCurry was thought to have a bigger role this season after coming over from Old Dominion and averaging 15.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.9 steals per contest last year. So far Kendrian Johnson has gotten the start at point in the first two games and has played more. That could change later this season, however, but for now it looks like Johnson, Taz Sherman, and Sean McNeil in the backcourt.

Kedrian Johnson - Seven steals on FridayJohnson notched four points (2-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-3 FT), two rebounds, six assists and seven steals in 24 minutes during Friday's 74-59 victory over Pittsburgh.
ImpactJohnson was flying around all over the place against Pittsburgh with his career-high seven steals. It was thought that transfer Malik Curry would be the guy that would come in and start at point guard with Miles McBride now gone, but early in the season it appears to be Johnson's job for now.
NOVEMBER 13, 2021ROTOWIRE
Jalen Bridges - Leads way for Mountaineers FridayBridges amassed 18 points (6-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, one assist and five blocks across 32 minutes during Friday's 74-59 win over Pittsburgh.
ImpactBridges was easily the best big on the court for the Mountaineers. He was able to get going from behind the arc and be a presence on the interior defensively with his five blocks. If West Virginia can get scoring like this consistently from Bridges this season, that is a game changer for a team that struggles to score outside of Taz Sherman and Sean McNeil.
