Impact It's great to see Ivey off to a lead role for Purdue after he was limited this summer with an ankle issue, but it was far from a perfect outing for the Purdue guard. He committed eight turnovers in the contest and would have fouled out if it had been a "regular" game. Still, it appears Ivey will dominate backcourt usage in what many feel could be a first-team all-Big Ten season.

Zach Edey - Looks dominant in scrimmage Edey scored 21 points (10-13 FG, 1-4 FT) to go along with 12 rebounds and three blocks in Saturday's intrasquad scrimmage.

Impact Edey saw a bigger role than expected as a freshman, as he was able to post 8.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks across just 14.6 minutes, all despite the presence of heralded big man Trevion Williams. He'll still have Williams in the mix, but those per-minute numbers are stellar enough to warrant a roster spot in many fantasy formats. Edey will be the first off the bench if Williams sees any quick whistles, plus he'll be key to defending the many menacing big men of the Big Ten conference.

Brandon Newman - No ankle trouble in scrimmage Newman (ankle) had 21 points (8-11 FG, 5-6 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists in Saturday's intrasquad scrimmage.

Impact Newman suffered a foot injury in late-September that led to him getting X-rays, but it ultimately proved to be a minor issue. He tied big man Zach Edey for the team high in scoring, but the big news here is that he doesn't appear to be limited heading into the season. While seemingly on the outside looking in with respect to a starting spot, Newman should provide the second unit with a big scoring burst, making him a sleeper Sixth Man of the Year candidate in the Big Ten.

Impact The fact that Ivey was still able to still participate in some portions of practice after the fact bodes well for this being a short-frame injury for the rising sophomore. Barring further issues at some point later on in camp, it seems likely he will be available for the Boilermakers' season opener Nov. 9 versus Bellarmine.

Mason Gillis - Will miss first four games Gillis will not play in the team's first four regular season games after pleading guilty to a count of OWI during the offseason, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact Gillis started at power forward last season for Purdue and averaged 5.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest. He should slot back in to that spot once he returns from serving his suspension.
