Two double-doubles in last three Williams closed with 12 points (4-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds, one block and two steals across 32 minutes during Saturday's 66-62 loss to Oklahoma.

Impact After losing his starting role for a four-game stretch, Williams reentered the starting lineup three games ago upon the loss of Bryce Thompson, who's out for the season with a torn labrum. Williams responded Saturday with his second double-double in three games since reclaiming his starting spot while adding a defensive presence with a couple of steals and a blocked shot. Williams has started 20 games this year for the Cowboys, playing 30.9 minutes per start while averaging 7.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals.

Impact Williams will draw back into OSU's starting lineup after Bryce Thompson (shoulder) underwent surgery Thursday. The starting forward is seeing nearly 30 minutes of action per night while averaging 6.5 points, 6.1 boards and 2.4 assists per contest. While not a prolific scorer, Williams sees enough minutes per night to where a small uptick in his stat line once conference season begins would not be a surprise.

May play some PF this season Williams is working on playing "small ball" power forward this season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact Head coach Mike Boynton is working on using Williams as a small-ball power forward during this upcoming season, giving him a chance to play more minutes in a different role. Last season he played 13 minutes per game as a true freshman, averaging 3.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.
