Impact Thompson drew his second consecutive start for the Hoosiers on Monday with Joey Brunk (back) still sidelined. The junior saw heavy usage against the Friars and recorded the first double-double of his collegiate career as he led the team in scoring and rebounds.

Picks up spot start Thompson will join the starting five for Wednesday's opener against Tennessee Tech.
Impact A frontcourt spot opened up following the absence of Joey Brunk (back), and Thompson will effectively make his first career start. Though 13.7 mpg last season, Thompson put up an efficient 3.7 points and 3.9 rebounds. The role will presumably decrease once Brunk is ready for full minutes, and it's worth noting Trace Jackson-Davis will still remain the focal point of the offense, especially in the frontcourt.
