Impact Battle's struggles embodied the overall performance of West Virginia, who had no shot from the jump against Houston. Battle had averaged 27.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals in his first four games, but managed just one field-goal Saturday as he was stifled along with the rest of his teammates. Battle will look to show the promise he exemplified before his West Virginia commitment, best indicated by the 17.7 points he averaged during Montana State's 2022-23 season.
