Impact After missing San Jose State's 2023-24 season with a foot injury, Vaihola will look to enter his 2024-25 campaign with a vengeance. Having averaged 6.5 rebounds during SJSU's 2022-23 campaign, he has experience grabbing a bunch of boards in Spartan games. San Jose State's latest exhibition is a prime example of what the 260-pound big man can do, and he will look to do that in spades, especially after a year off to physically recover and improve his game.

Sits out again Friday Vaihola (foot) did not play in Friday's 77-71 loss to Abilene Christian.

Impact Vaihola missed his fourth consecutive game Friday as he continues to deal with a foot injury. With Garrett Anderson and Diogo Saixas also out the first four games, the Spartans have had limited depth to start the season, especially in the front court. Vaihola's next chance to play is Saturday versus Norfolk State, but a more realistic return date is Nov. 27 versus North Dakota State.

Impact The timeline here isn't perfectly clear, but the report seems to suggest that Vaihola is in danger of missing Tuesday's season opener against UC-Irvine. Impact The sophomore had an excellent game recording a double-double while also scoring a season-high 18 points on 75 percent shooting from the field. The forward is averaging 7.4 points and 6.3 rebounds this season. Expect more scoring moving forward for Vaihola as this could have been the spark he needed.
