Impact Having Acuff available and ready to go will be a huge boost for Rutgers, as the senior guard is expected to play a prominent role in the team's backcourt even if he doesn't open the season in a starting role. Acuff is a transfer from Eastern Michigan who averaged 21.7 points per game during the 2023-24 season.

Ace Bailey - Out for Wagner game Bailey (hip) is out for Rutgers' game Wednesday against Wagner, according to Jerry Carino of The Asbury Park Press.
Impact Bailey suffered a hip injury Monday, an unfortunate series of events that will result in his DNP on Wednesday. This will give the other members of Rutgers' roster a chance for a piece of at least 30 minutes of his playing time that was expected for the Wagner game. Currently, his next playing opportunity is Monday against St. Peter's.

Impact Among 10 Rutgers players who participated in Thursday's game, Acuff logged the fewest minutes. But according to Jerry Carino of The Asbury Park Press, the redshirt senior's previously fractured foot played a big part in his limited playing time against St. John's. He recently recovered and underwent only one week of team practices before participating in the exhibition. So while Acuff's three-minute log is concerning, limited playing time may not be a regular occurrence during Rutgers' 2024-25 season. But now, the question is how much of this campaign's early portion will include him.
