Tops team in scoring against Upper Iowa Hawkins had a team-high 15 points (6-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt), five rebounds, and two assists in Saturday's exhibition win over Upper Iowa.
Impact Hawkins tied Ryan Nembhard for most minutes as well with 27. Hawkins transferred from Northwest Missouri State in the offseason where he was a 22.6 point-per game scorer along with ripping down nearly nine rebounds per game. It looks like he will start at small forward going into the season with the potential to play some small-ball four or possibly even five if head coach Greg McDermott wants to get real creative.
