ImpactMallette had one of his worst shooting nights of the season against a defensive minded San Diego squad, connecting on just 20 percent of his field goal attempts. It's the third time in the last four games that he's been held to single digits after initially getting off to a strong start to his freshman season. Mallette has been a reliable long-range shooter overall, connecting on 37 percent of his threes with 2.3 made per game.

Marcellus Earlington - Leads team in bench roleEarlington notched 16 points (5-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), eight rebounds and two steals over 23 minutes during Monday's 72-62 win over Pepperdine.

ImpactEarlington scored a game-high 16 points as he came off the bench for the second straight game after starting the first 13 games of the season. His move to the bench coincides with Terrell Brown-Soares' return to the lineup, but Earlington was undeterred as he was just two boards shy of a double-double. The San Diego rotation is one to monitor with Jase Townsend expected to return from a hand injury in the near future.
