Impact At least for now, Saturday was the Marquette Golden Eagles' lone scrimmage or exhibition of their 2024-25 season. Assuming they do not add another scrimmage or exhibition, ideally a month can pass by with at least some update of Jones' knee status before the regular season begins. For Marquette, it commences with a Nov. 4 game against Stony Brook.

Impact Despite it being almost half a year since Jones personally suffered an ACL tear, him not being at 100 percent physically is far from reassuring. However, it is worth noting that the severity of Jones' injury was expected to cause a long-term absence, which would have been more than six months. Also, four months remain before Marquette's 2024-25 season begins, giving him at least a good chunk of time to recover.
