Steps up in spot start Wells provided 16 points (7-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-3 FT), two rebounds, five assists and one steal over 30 minutes during Tuesday's 76-72 victory over West Virginia. Impact Wells filled in admirably for Horned Frogs' leading scorer Mike Miles (knee) on Tuesday. The backup guard played a very limited role since starting out of the starting rotation in early December, averaging just 10.1 minutes per game from Dec. 10 to Jan. 18. However, he has now played at least 20 minutes in each of the last four games, averaging 12.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists while converting 57.1 percent of his 8.8 field-goal tires per contest over this span. With Miles' timeline for a return still unknown, Wells could be in line to retain a starting role for the foreseeable future. TCU's next game will come Saturday at Oklahoma State.
