Ta'Quan Woodley - Fills in for LevequeWoodley contributed two points (1-3 FG), six rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal across 17 minutes during Saturday's 82-71 loss to Auburn.
ImpactWoodley has seen a slight minutes uptick of late, averaging 14.0 mpg over his last five contests, up from his season average of 12.1 mpg. This is due in part to coach Frank Martin's public frustration with starting center and upperclassman Wildens Leveque, who was pulled from Saturday's matchup after committing an early foul. Martin never put Leveque back in the game, while Woodley started the second half at center. It's unclear whether this pattern will continue with presumably only a few games remaining this season.

Wildens Leveque - Drama in ColumbiaLeveque logged just two minutes in Saturday's 82-71 loss to Auburn.
ImpactLeveque has started 27 games at center for the Gamecocks this season, but the 6-10 center has apparently gotten himself on the bad side of coach Frank Martin. According to Michael Lananna of The State, when asked about Leveque's status, Martin replied "Watching him play has hurt my eyes." Clearly, Martin appears disappointed with what he views as regression, and has publicly taken out his frustrations on a player who has made 50 career starts for the program. Oddly enough, Leveque has improved both his scoring average and shooting percentage from a season ago. Still, Martin pulled him from Saturday's contest after committing a foul early, and Leveque never returned to the game. Instead, 6-8 freshman Ta'Quan Woodley saw most of the minutes and started the second half at the five. It's unclear what, if anything, Leveque can do to earn his rotation spot back, but at this point, it wouldn't be surprising to see him seek a program that can better utilize his services during the offseason.
