ImpactTabbs was deemed questionable going into opening night and the Boston College transfer was ultimately unable to suit up. He averaged over 13.0 points in each of his two seasons with Boston College and should be a contributor when healthy. East Carolina faces Canisius on Friday.

Wynston Tabbs - Opener status in questionTabbs' status has yet to be determined for Tuesday's season opener against South Carolina State, Stephen Igoe of 247 Sports reports.
ImpactEast Carolina coach Joe Dooley did not go into much detail regarding Tabbs or several other players that are potentially banged up and may be at risk of missing the opener. There at least shouldn't be any eligibility concerns with Tabbs, as he'd be covered under the NCAA's blanked rule allowing immediate eligibility for one-time transfers. Tabbs projects as the leading scorer at ECU after averaging 13.9 ppg and 13.3 ppg across two seasons at Boston College (which were separated by a season-ending knee injury in 2019).
