Will sit out againThompson (knee) will not play in Monday's game against Southern Illinois, David Woods of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ImpactThompson is recovering from a sprained ligament in his right knee that he suffered last week. With a weaker opponent on tap it allows Butler to not rush back their star guard. The Bulldogs will play Providence on both Wednesday and Dec. 30, but it's unclear if he will be ready to go for either of those matchups with the Friars.

Status uncertain for MondayThompson (knee) is considered questionable for Butler's game Monday against Southern Illinois, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
ImpactThe senior guard was sidelined for Saturday's 68-60 loss to Indiana with a sprained right knee, but Butler is holding out hope Thompson might be ready to play two days later. Thompson started in the Bulldogs' first two games of the season, averaging 17.5 points and 5.0 dimes between the contests.
