Out due to coach's decisionWills did not play Wednesday against USC due to a coach's decision, Rivals reports.
ImpactWills missed the bulk of Pac-12 play this season with a knee injury, but had appeared in each of the last seven games off the bench for the Cardinal. He joined teammate and fellow former backcourt starter Daejon Davis on the bench for this one, and while it seems this was primarily a coach's decision, coach Jerod Haase did tell Ells Boone of The Stanford Daily that the duo remains a bit banged up. Perhaps the Cardinal is simply saving all its weapons for the Pac-12 tournament that begins March 10, as the team has seemingly fallen far enough out of the bubble conversation that a win against the conference's top team wouldn't have moved the needle much. Or, there could be something going on behind the scenes forcing Haase to bench his NBA-caliber talent with the season on the line. We may not see answers until next week.

Sits due to coach's decisionDavis did not play Wednesday against USC due to a coach's decision, Rivals reports.
ImpactThis one is admittedly a bit puzzling. Davis has appeared in five consecutive games since returning from a knee injury, but was sidelined the entire second half against Oregon State. According to Ells Boone of The Stanford Daily, the absence of Davis on Wednesday was again a coach's decision, but coach Jerod Haase did seemingly hide behind that statement a bit by acknowledging that Davis and Bryce Wills -- who missed the game under similar circumstances -- were both a bit banged up. Stanford's losing streak is now at four games, which seemingly keeps it well out of the bubble conversation. It's unclear what the rotation will look like for the Pac-12 Tournament that opens up March 10, or if Haase will continue to keep his NBA-caliber talent in the doghouse with the season on the line.
