Takes charge in scrimmage Crowl led the Badgers with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting, adding six rebounds and two assists across 20 minutes in Sunday's exhibition victory over Eau Claire. Impact Crowl took advantage of an undersized, DIII opponent in what was a solid tune-up game before the regular season begins Nov. 7 against South Dakota. Without Chris Vogt around this season to provide relief in the post, Crowl will be tasked with serving as the primary center in a tough Big Ten conference that features plenty of talented five men. He conceded time to presumed backup Chris Hodges in the second half, but the seven-footer will be the primary option when meaningful games get underway. He has a slight frame compared to other, more experienced centers in the conference and will need to be more assertive in the post in order to excel in the opportunity he finds himself with.
