Impact Donnie Freeman and J.J. Starling were among the standout performers for Syracuse in this double-OT win, but Lampkin was efficient and productive as well. Lampkin has improved his scoring figures with each passing game this season and now has back-to-back double-doubles. He should continue to play a big role on both ends of the court for Syracuse if he stays healthy.

Impact Starling didn't deliver an eye-popping performance like Eddie Lampkin did in this tight win over Colgate, but he still made his presence felt as one of three Syracuse players who scored in double digits. Starling has at least 12 points, four boards and three assists in his first two outings this season.

Impact Lampkin led the Orange in scoring in this one and was one of the three starters who scored in double digits, but he also led the team in rebounds and assists. It's only been two games so far, but Lampkin has already racked up 25 total points while adding 15 rebounds, six assists and two steals to his name.

Impact While McLeod was healthy enough to appear in scrimmages, it's been implied that he may not be operating at 100 percent quite yet. Until then, Eddie Lampkin and Donnie Freeman have been occupying the center minutes for the Orange. It's unclear if McLeod will a greater role when Syracuse takes on Colgate on Tuesday evening.

Impact Freeman was thrown into a starting role in his first taste of college action and didn't disappoint en route to posting a double-double. His shooting could use some work, though, as he went just 3-for-12 from the field, but he should eventually adjust as he gets more used to the pace of the college ranks.

Impact Davis didn't start in the season opener, but that didn't stop him from leading Syracuse in both scoring and rebounding -- despite playing fewer minutes than four of the five starters. Don't be surprised if this impressive season-opening performance results in a bigger role for Davis going forward.

Impact Back in January, McLeod suffered a foot injury, which eventually required surgery that prematurely ended his 2023-24 season. It took more than three-fourths of a year, but he is finally healthy again. Unfortunately for McLeod, Eddie Lampkin enrolled at Syracuse, giving Syracuse a center who can both rebound and score. The addition dampens McLeod's upside, especially after Lampkin was SU's starting center Saturday.
