Impact While Santiago Vescovi took on most of the ball handling in Tennessee last season, he'll shift over to shooting guard for the opener to allow the Oregon transfer to start. Bailey entered the Oregon program as a highly-touted recruit, and appeared in 73 games (eight starts) over two seasons. He was never a double-digit scorer, however, so he jumped ship to Knoxville where it already appears he'll have more opportunities following one season on the sidelines.

Impact Coach Rick Barnes did not say why Pember would be unable to go for the team's opener, but the team had been dealing with COVID-19 related issues the first couple weeks of the season. Pember's next chance to play would be on Saturday against Cincinnati.

Vols out of Jimmy V Classic Tennessee announced Tuesday that due to recent COVID-19 test results, the team has extended its pause on team related activities and will not play in the Jimmy V Classic next week.
Impact Tennessee put the pause on yesterday due to some positive COVID-19 tests including coach Rick Barnes. As of now they will not play in a game until at least Dec. 12 against Cincinnati. Pons and the rest of the Volunteers unfortunately will lose out on trying to test themselves early in the season against the No. 1 ranked team in the country in Gonzaga that was part of the Jimmy V Classic next week.
