Nails game-winner McClung had 22 points (6-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 8-10 FT), five rebounds and two assists across 36 minutes in Wednesday's 79-77 victory over Texas. Impact The Red Raiders struggled against the Texas defense, especially in half-court sets, but McClung bailed out the lack of ball movement multiple times by drawing contact beyond the arc. His most memorable moment came in the final 15 seconds, however, as McClung ultimately declined to take the timeout in a tie game, instead electing to run the offense. He called his own number and stepped up to hit a three-pointer (later ruled a two-point basket) with a defender right in his face, giving Texas Tech the lead with seconds remaining. McClung no longer needs to carry the offense now that he's with a more talent-rich squad in Lubbock, but his numbers have hardly taken a hit. Wednesday was his third 20-point game of Big 12 play, and he's now averaging 17.4 ppg through seven league contests.
