Impact Sorber's left foot suffered its injury when the Hoyas and Butler logged their mid-February game. The freshman will undergo surgery Wednesday. Even though Sorber is expected to physically recover, he requires more than the 2024-25 Hoyas' remaining season. The center's 24 games (23 starts) include 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks averaged.

The 6-foot-10 freshman has been putting up an incredible first-year campaign for the Hoyas, averaging 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and two blocks across 24 games (23 starts). The severity of his injury and his outlook moving forward remains uncertain at this time.

Impact Sorber returned from a one-game absence Monday and recorded a double-double, but Saturday was quite possibly his best individual effort of the year. The freshman set a new career-best rebounding total while matching his career high in scoring, which was originally set all the way back on Nov. 9. Coach Ed Cooley clearly has something special in the 6-10 freshman, and while the Hoyas have lost five of six to fall to 4-5 in Big East play, the future is certainly looking brighter.
