Said to be most improved Purdue's head coach Matt Painter said Monday that Kaufman-Renn is his most improved player going into the 2023-24 season, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. Impact Ideally for Kaufman-Renn, Painter saying the forward being his most improved player bodes well for better opportunities given to him. He averaged less than 12 minutes across his 35 games during Purdue's latest season, but actually drew the start over the likes of Mason Gillis and Caleb Furst in Saturday's charity exhibition. He still played significantly less minutes than Gillis, but managed to rack up nine points (4-7 FG, 1-4 FT) and three rebounds in 20 minutes. The team is looking for options to complement Naismith College Player of the Year Zach Edey. So if Painter truly means what he says, Kaufman-Renn could significantly boost his overall output soon.
