Impact Perry led the way in what was a huge win for Kansas State. Following scoring a total of eight points on 2-for-16 shooting over the final two games of the regular season, Perry, who had six 20-plus point efforts during the 18-game conference season, posted another such effort on Wednesday. Next up for the Wildcats is a return date with Iowa State in the quarterfinals. Perry scored just six points in last week's upset win over the Cyclones but will be relied upon for a much bigger performance in order for the Wildcats to pull off another much-needed victory and add to their NCAA tournament resume.

Impact Perry had scored just 19 points total in his previous three games but was the only Wildcat to post double-figures Tuesday with his 23-point effort. After scoring 25 against UCF in the initial conference game of the season, Perry had been struggling since, averaging just 9.8 points and shooting only 24.6% from the field in the six games prior to Tuesday. On the negative end, it was the second-consecutive game he had a season-low assist total of two, but that's more a byproduct of Kansas State's recent offensive woes. He remains the Wildcats' third-leading scorer and top ball distributor, averaging 14.4 points and 4.8 assists in 21 games this season.

Impact Perry celebrated the start of Big 12 conference play by posting a season-high in points along with his customary five assists. It was the fifth 20-plus point outing of the season for Perry and he has collected either five or six assists in all but two of 14 contests this season. It was also the fourth time he's had three or more steals. The senior point guard has been a steady contributor in his first season with the Wildcats, posting 15.7 points, 5.4 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals over 36.1 minutes per contest.

Impact It was the fifth-consecutive game for Perry with six assists as he also added three steals on the defensive end. Perry's scoring production has dipped a bit since the start of the year when he scored at least 18 points in the first four, but he's still averaging 16.2 points on the season while serving as the main ball distributor for the Wildcats.

Despite the down effort, the senior transfer from North Texas has paid huge dividends for Kansas State thus far, averaging 36.6 minutes while leading the team in scoring with 19.2 per game along with placing second in assists (4.8), second in steals (1.2) and third in rebounds (5.4).
