Ithiel Horton - Leads team in rare startHorton closed Wednesday's 77-71 loss to UCF with 20 points (8-14 FG, 4-10 3Pt), three rebounds and three assists in 37 minutes.
ImpactHorton earned just his fifth start of the season Wednesday and took advantage by playing 37 minutes while pacing the Longhorns in scoring. The senior wing had come off the bench in the first three games of the conference slate, going scoreless on just five shot attempts and making this start and subsequent performance all the more unexpected. He had gotten off to a strong start this season, scoring double-figures in six of the first seven, but averaged just 2.9 points in the nine games prior to Wednesday. WIth the Longhorns slumping and Brock Cunningham failing to contribute much upon his move to the bench, it would not be a surprise if Horton will be given a chance to continue to prove himself as a member of the starting five.

ImpactAfter struggling from the field in two of the first three conference games, Sellers was moved to the bench for the first time this season and responded with his highest scoring and rebounding totals since posting 34 and eight on Nov. 26. Whether Sellers continues to come off the bench or if this was merely a one-time spark remains to be seen, but the star guard still played 33 minutes Wednesday. Sellers has now posted 15.8 points and 3.0 rebounds in 33.5 minutes since the start of conference play.
