ImpactVerhoeven missed three consecutive games due to a concussion but was finally able to return for the first time since Dec. 12. The 6-9 junior started the first seven games of the year but came off the bench in two consecutive before sustaining a concussion. For now, Verhoeven will operate as a backup to Kevin Kalu but he and Kalu are still expected to see a relatively even split in minutes.

ImpactKennedy apparently suffered the injury with two minutes remaining in the game against Bradley on Dec. 22. The 6-5 sophomore is the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 13.9 points to go along with 5.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 34 minutes per game. It's unclear how long he's expected to be out but he represents a massive loss for the Miners. Jamari Sibley is expected to step into a larger role with Kennedy out.
