Eric Dixon - Huge 33-point outing in loss Dixon closed with 33 points (11-16 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds, two assists and three steals across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 90-80 loss to Columbia.
Impact Dixon wasn't able to lead the Wildcats to a win against the underdog Columbia squad, but he still put together a very solid performance in the end. The senior forward had to serve a one-game suspension which kept him out of Villanova's season-opener win over Lafayette, but he didn't seem to miss a beat in his return to the court for game two of the season. He amassed more than 30 points just twice in the 2023-24 season, meaning he could already be on pace for a big campaign as the year unfolds.

Impact Moseley's role for the Wildacts was up-in-the-air heading into the season, but it appears he could be a key rotator as the season develops. The freshman forward punched in baskets on all of his five two-point attempts, which was enough to get him to 10 points, a promising scoring number which could keep him at a high level of output if he can replicate moving forward.

Impact Poplar scored a rather efficient 20 points on 13 shots, and also logged a double-double by collecting 10 rebounds. Poplar was expected to immediately play a big role for Villanova, and he demonstrated Monday night that he's more than capable of doing so.

Impact After the Villanova Wildcats' in-house scrimmage on Oct. 8, they scheduled an exhibition game for Sunday. Unfortunately for him, he did not play. The reasoning for his DNP has not been disclosed, though it should not be so surprising if it traces back to a knee injury that was problematic for him earlier this October and across 2024 thus far. Njoku has one week to recover before this season's Wildcats are expected to begin their regular season Nov. 4 against Lafayette.

Impact As long as Parker does not suffer anything in the next week, he is expected to be available for Villanova's season opener. The redshirt freshman transferred from Alabama, whose basketball program made history with him rostered but without playing a single game. Villanova's team is trying to get back on track, giving Parker at least a somewhat easier platform for his skill set.

Impact More than half a month was insufficient for Dumont's hips to recover. He barely has over a week before Villanova's 2024-25 team begins its regular season Nov. 4 against Lafayette. Impact Gavalyugov barely logged multiple minutes during Villanova's latest exhibition, which makes his Nova role and fantasy upside not so promising going into the 2024-25 Wildcats' regular season. At the very least, Gavalyugov is healthy and has at least a chance for some better game opportunities, which could be given to him come November.
