Back in actionMedley-Bacon did not score a point over three minutes of action in his return to the court Tuesday against Dayton.
ImpactMedley-Bacon hadn't seen game action since Dec. 30 as he was forced to leave the team briefly for the birth of his daughter and was subject to COVID-19 protocol upon returning. It appears the 7-1 junior is ready to return to his former role providing post depth for the Rams, who as of Wednesday, are just a half-game back of first place in the Atlantic 10 conference.

Sits Tuesday with ankle injuryDouglas did not play Tuesday against Dayton due to an ankle injury suffered in practice Monday, Wayne Epps of the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports.
ImpactDouglas broke a streak of 16 consecutive starts back on Feb. 3 against Rhode Island, and the senior was limited to just 14 minutes in the contest. We now know that was due to ankle problems as well, but it's apparently his opposite ankle that was twisted in practice Monday. Fortunately for VCU, this injury isn't expected to keep him out for more than a couple days, though a quick turnaround Wednesday against Davidson seems like a big ask.

20 points in consecutive outingsWatson had a game-high 20 points (7-10 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and an assist Tuesday against VCU.
ImpactWatson has now scored 20+ in consecutive outings and in three of his last four. He's been a big time volume guy for the Flyers, haven taking 10+ shots in six straight and at least nine in 12 straight. Rarely coming off of the floor (38.1 mpg), Watson is as safe of a nightly option as you can find and a solid choice wherever the Flyers are present.

Double-double vs. VCUTshimanga had a season-high 14 points (4-7 FG, 6-8 FT), 12 rebounds and an assist Tuesday against VCU.
ImpactIt was easily the big man's best game of the year. He's now pulled down 26 rebounds to go with 22 points in his last two outings, but had just three double-digit rebounds and three double-digit scoring outings throughout the season prior to this two-game streak. Not blocking many shots for his size, we'll need to see more from Tshimanga before he can be a trusted fantasy center.

Steady all-around effort vs. FlyersBaldwin finished with 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists and two steals Tuesday against Dayton.
ImpactA bit of a quiet evening for the freshman in peripheral categories, as he's normally a larger contributor of assists and steals. Baldwin has not been a big scorer as a rookie, but he's quietly taken 9+ shots in three straight. He presents with a stable nightly floor, but if the offensive opportunities remain, he'll become a much greater fantasy asset.

New season-high 19 TuesdayWilliams had a season-high 19 points (7-14 FG, 5-8 3Pt) Tuesday against Dayton, adding four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
ImpactWilliams got hot behind the arch, as he'd only hit multiple 3-points five times prior to Tuesday. Williams is an inconsistent scorer, having alternated single and double-digit across his last five, but usually offers a well-rounded stat line to keep a stable nightly floor.

Dayton-Saint Joseph's postponedCrutcher and Dayton won't play Saturday against Saint Joseph's after the game was postponed due to COVID-19-related concerns, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
ImpactThe postponement is the second of the season for Dayton, which also had a game Tuesday against UMass called off before the Flyers were able to schedule VCU as a last-second replacement. Crutcher endured an off night in the Flyers' 76-67 loss to VCU, finishing with eight points (3-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-3 FT) to go with eight assists and five rebounds in 40 minutes. Unless the Flyers are able to add another game to their schedule on short notice, Crutcher and Dayton will next play Feb. 16 at Rhode Island.
