Enters transfer portal McKinney is entering the transfer portal, Travis Branham of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact After a successful junior season at San Diego, McKinney will now look for a new -- and perhaps more high-profile -- program. He averaged 13.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game in 32 starts this season.

Set to return Thursday McKinney is healthy and in the starting lineup for Thursday's game versus San Francisco, Jack Cronin of the Pac 12 Network reports.

Impact McKinney missed his first game of the season in Saturday's loss to Gonzaga, but thankfully for him the absence is short lived. He is back in the starting lineup to play San Francisco which will be a huge addition for the Toreros as McKinney is averaging 14.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.7 steals this season.

Misses first game of season McKinney did not suit up for Saturday's 101-74 loss to Gonzaga after suffering a foot/ankle injury in San Diego's previous contest, Jim Meehan of The Spokesman-Review reports.

Impact It was a tough loss for San Diego against the best team in the West Coast Conference, as McKinney is the team's primary point guard and second-leading scorer at 14.4 ppg. As a result of McKinney's absence, Deuce Turner saw more ball-handling duties, while Kevin Patton stepped into the starting lineup for the first time this season. McKinney's next chance to return will be Thursday against San Francisco.

Struggles in blowout loss McKinney II produced one point (1-2 FT), one rebound and five assists across 19 minutes during Thursday's 92-74 loss to Portland.

Impact McKinney II led San Diego in assists, but struggled to make an impact outside of ball distribution. The sophomore guard couldn't get open for any good looks at the basket, causing his lowest point total of the entire season. The California native will now have to look to next season to help the Toreros rebuild their program into legitimate WCC contenders.

Heads to bench McKinney is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against Pepperdine.

Impact McKinney has started every game dating back to Dec. 3 but will head to the bench in favor of Steven Jamerson with the Toreros putting out a bigger lineup than usual. The 6-0 guard is averaging 7.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 steals over 26.7 minutes per contest, so this could merely be a tactical move for Thursday's matchup.

Impact An undisclosed problem prevented McKinney from participating in San Diego's game Monday versus Sonoma State. Fantasy managers should expect the healthy guard to continue being valued, but as a sixth man until further notice. Seikou Sisoho Jawara (who transferred from Weber State) and Jase Townsend are San Diego's starting backcourt now.

Impact McKinney has started the last seven games for the Torreros and is seeing plenty of ball-handling minutes, though he does get a break from reserve sophomore Bryce Monroe on occasion. The production has been a bit inconsistent, but he is averaging 8.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists over that stretch, which includes performances of 17 and 14 points. The production may not catch the eyes of fantasy managers in WCC-heavy leagues just yet, but he's worth keeping an eye on for future seasons as long as he hangs on to this role.
