Jamarius Burton - Strong performance despite defeatBurton posted 16 points (5-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 6-7 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and one steal over 26 minutes during Friday's 81-56 loss to West Virginia.
ImpactBurton scored a career-high 12.4 points per game last season in his first year with the Panthers, but given the program suffered some departures, he might be in line for an even bigger role in 2022-23. The early signs are encouraging, though. In his first two games, Burton has racked up 26 total points to go along with 12 rebounds, nine assists and three steals. He's also logging 28.0 minutes per game.

Greg Elliott - Struggles from field in lossElliott logged 12 points (3-8 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound and one steal across 39 minutes during Friday's 81-56 loss to West Virginia.
ImpactThe Marquette transfer has started each of the Panthers' first two games, and while the team has not played particularly well, Elliott at least has scored in double digits in both contests. The lack of efficiency is an issue, though, as he's gone just 7-for-17 from the field in those contests, but he also struggled from the field last season. He made a career-low 38.9 percent of his field goal attempts in 2021-22.

Joe Toussaint - Top scorer FridayToussaint contributed 18 points (5-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-9 FT), four rebounds, five assists and two steals across 30 minutes during Friday's 81-56 win over Pittsburgh.
ImpactToussaint finished as the Mountaineers' leading scorer while coming off the bench for the second game in a row. However, the Iowa transfer did wind up playing more minutes than starting guards Kedrian Johnson (26), Erik Stevenson (25) and Kobe Johnson (18) during this early-season non-conference matchup. Toussaint served a minor scoring role for the Hawkeyes last season, averaging just 4.3 points on 3.9 field-goal attempts over 36 games, and he'll look to increase his point per game during his fourth collegiate campaign in 2022-23.
NOVEMBER 11, 2022ROTOWIRE
Erik Stevenson - Efficient soring effort FridayStevenson notched 16 points (7-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt), one rebound and one assist in 25 minutes during Friday's 81-56 win over Pittsburgh.
ImpactStevenson started for the second game in a row after transferring to West Virginia this offseason. Over 31 starts with South Carolina last year, the graduate senior averaged 11.6 points while converting 36.9 percent of his 10.5 field-goal attempts per game. While Stevenson has been a largely inefficient scorer in his long career, he'll look to this flaw in his game while serving as one of the Mountaineers' most experienced players this season. Expect the 6-foot-4 guard to start once again versus Morehead State on Tuesday.
