ImpactMaldonado and the Cowboys have had to deal with injuries to several key rotation players of late, so it's no surprise to see the fifth-year point guard close to the top-10 in the nation with a career-high 37.3 mpg. He logged 40-plus minutes Sunday for the fourth time in his last five games and seventh time overall this season. Maldonado is now third in the Mountain West in scoring at 19.3 ppg, plus he leads the conference in assists at 6.4 apg. He and Graham Ike (20.0 ppg) combine for one of the most formidable high-low combos in the country, and the duo seems perfectly capable of willing the Cowboys to a win or two when the NCAA Tournament rolls around.
