ImpactJones and Xavier couldn't overcome the red hot Golden Eagles who were victorious in their last five games prior to Sunday. Jones recorded two assists in the opening five minutes of play but didn't record a bucket of his own until less than seven minutes remained in the first half. The sophomore has not had a game with less than five rebounds since the layoff and continues to hustle in all situations. He will seek to elevate Xavier back into the win column against Providence on Wednesday.

ImpactScruggs was one of three Musketeers to record double-digit points in the loss. He tied his season-high for defensive rebounds with seven. The senior has averaged 11.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists during 31.1 minutes over 18 games this season.

Justin Lewis - Double-double in winLewis had 20 points (7-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 13 rebounds and two assists across 34 minutes during Sunday's 75-64 win over Xavier.

ImpactLewis recorded his fifth double-double of the season four games removed from his last and pulled down a season-high 13 rebounds. All 13 boards were defensive, setting a new career-high for the freshman. This was also the fifth time on the season the Maryland native recorded 20 points or more. Marquette has won six straight and will look to make it seven against Seton Hall on Wednesday. In addition to the team success that has resulted in a spot in the AP Top-25, Lewis has been named Big East Player of the Week.

ImpactFreemantle came down with an illness this week but was expected to be available all along, which he confirmed with his presence in the starting five. He still may have been experiencing adverse effects, however, as he played one of his lower minutes totals since re-entering the starting five despite no noteworthy foul trouble. He'll have a few more days to recover before the Musketeers host Providence on Wednesday.
