Progressing ahead of schedule Martinez (shoulder) is working through his shoulder injury ahead of schedule, but is still not throwing yet, Kellis Robinett of The Wichita Eagle reports. Impact Martinez committed to Kansas State in December after he underwent surgery on his throwing shoulder in November. The 6-foot-2 junior spent four seasons with Nebraska prior to his move to Kansas State. In these four seasons, Martinez appeared in 39 games, throwing for 8,491 yards, 45 touchdowns and 30 interceptions on 670-for-1,055 passing (63.51 percent completion). The experienced quarterback will look to take over at Kansas State following his recovery.
