Zach Calzada - Working to become QB1 Calzada is recovering from his shoulder injury and looking to become Auburn's starting quarterback this season, AL.com reports.
Impact Calzada transferred from Texas A&M this past offseason and has entered one of the most competitive quarterback battles in college football. He is competing with T.J. Finley, Oregon transfer Robby Ashford and true freshman Holden Geriner. Calzada started off the spring at a disadvantage because he was limited due to a shoulder injury, but now that he is healthy he arguably poses the largest threat to Finley. Calzada ended the 2021 season with 2,185 yards and 17 touchdowns and has shown he is very capable of holding a starting quarterback position.

T.J. Finley - Battling to return as Auburn's QB1 Finley is part of a quarterback battle and is working to get the Tigers' starting position in the fall, AL.com reports.
Impact Finley started the final three games of the season for Auburn in 2021 which makes him the only Tiger quarterback to have started a game for them thus far. He is trying to maintain this position but will have to perform better than Zach Calzada, Robby Ashford and Holden Geriner in the remaining practices before the season begins. In the spring, Finley received majority of the first-team reps, and Ashford and Geriner were behind him while Calzada was limited with a shoulder injury. Although Finley had more first-team opportunities in the spring, he will not automatically be listed as QB1 and will have to continue battling hard.

Robby Ashford - Participating in quarterback battle Ashford is one of four Auburn quarterbacks battling for a starting position this fall, AL.com reports.
Impact Ashford transferred from Oregon last offseason and has entered a competitive fight for the title of Auburn's QB1. The three other quarterbacks are T.J Finley, Zach Calzada and Holden Grinder, and Finley is the only returning Auburn quarterback. Ashford worked mainly behind Finley in the spring, but this does not mean he is out of the running. He ended up impressing his coaches in spring practice and took home A-Day MVP honors.
