Impact Estrada joined Baylor after not playing in 2020 -- the season at Darmouth was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he's one year removed from racking up 51 receptions for 827 yards and eight touchdowns in 2019. Estrada has been listed as a co-starter alongside Josh Fleeks, but there could be a role for him considering how the offense lacked star power in 2020. His first chance to earn the starting role on a regular basis will come on the season opener Saturday at Texas State.

Impact After spending the 2020 season on defense, Smith will return to the Bears' backfield for 2021 where he'll be expected to bring physicality to the running back position. Per Dave Aranda, Baylor needed a downhill runner who "invites impacts at the second level", so the 217-pound Smith would seem to be a good fit. In 2019, Smith carried eight times for 35 yards and a touchdown, but he should be in line for a bigger role in 2021.
