Impact Stewart demonstrated a consistent ability to dominate on the ground, as he also averaged 11.5 yards per carry. Although Bowling Green had the liberty of a blowout win, the junior running back's performance foreshadowed a dominant campaign forthcoming.

Lucian Anderson III - Gets in during win Anderson was 1-for-1 passing for two yards during Thursday's 41-17 win versus Fordham. He also had two rushes for 27 yards with one touchdown.
Impact Due to the nature of Bowling Green's blowout, Anderson was able to get into the game and ended up capping on a rushing touchdown. This could signify him being the primary backup to play caller Connor Bazelak for the season, but nothing is set in stone as the Falcons were up by so much and already leading 27-3 at half.

Bazelak did undergo a leg surgery during the offseason which could have accounted for Bowling Green's overreliance on the run, and this game was a blowout which also shouldn't be an indicator for the entire season to come.

A healthy Stewart bodes well for Bowling Green's football program, especially after a 2023 season he excelled in despite one year off before then. It was during 2023 when Stewart logged career highs in carries (125), rushing yards (762), yards per carry (6.1) and touchdowns (eight).

The running back logged 90 carries for 359 yards and two touchdowns then. Pegues also arguably impressed more as a receiver, recording 23 receptions for 206 yards and three TDs.

Connor Bazelak - Ready ahead of season Bazelak (leg) stated he's feeling good in his post surgery recovery and is ready to go for the season.
Impact Bazelak underwent surgery for his right leg back in January to address a cartilage defect, and he missed spring practices up until late this summer to recover. The 6-foot-3 starting quarterback should be fully ready as August practices start up, so his recovery schedule is going as planned. He threw for 1,930 yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions with the Falcons this past season and should be primed to start again under center as long as he can stay healthy in what will likely be his final collegiate season.
