Edwards could be in for another big game against Syracuse on Nov. 23. The Orangemen's defense is in the middle of the country against the run.

Best run in a few weeks Edwards totaled 13 carries for 88 yards during Friday's 34-27 victory over Georgia State.

Impact It's been over a month since Edwards had a game like this. The sophomore accumulated 97 yards on 10 carries against Buffalo on Sept. 28. Edwards had one rush for 46 yards, but the rest of the carries averaged 3.5 yards. The sophomore has a chance to go over the century mark against UAB on Nov. 9. UAB has one of the worst defenses against the run in the country.

Touchdown saves day Edwards posted eight rushes for 11 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 17-10 victory versus Rice.

Impact Edwards 4-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter saved the sophomore's worst rushing day of the season. His previous low this fall came against FCS Merrimack with 15 rushing yards on Sept. 7. The sophomore has a good chance of rebounding against Georgia State on Nov. 1. The Panthers defense is one of the poorest in the nation against the run.

Led UConn rushing Edwards compiled seven carries for 26 yards and caught 3 of 5 targets for 25 yards during Saturday's 23-20 defeat against Wake Forest.

Impact While Edwards led the Huskies in rushing, it was a quiet day on the ground for UConn. Edwards was looking to build off the previous weeks, but failed to get going. The redshirt sophomore averaged almost 70 yards rushing the previous two games. Edwards is in a competition with fellow running backs, Durell Robinson and Mel Brown.

Could not do much with carries Edwards compiled 15 carries for 40 yards and reeled in 2 of 5 targets for 17 yards during Saturday's 29-20 victory against Temple.

Impact Edwards had plenty of opportunities but could not cash in. The redshirt sophomore though is more than halfway in surpassing last season's numbers where he had 618 rushing yards while this season has accumulated 320 yards on the ground. He could rebound in the next contest, Oct. 19 against Wake Forest's defense who are in the bottom quarter of the country against the run.

Leads Huskies' running game Edwards logged 10 carries for 97 yards and one touchdown and reeled in their only target for two yards during Saturday's 47-3 win over Buffalo.

Impact Edwards just missed another game in the century mark. The redshirt sophomore has three in his career. He could very well get his fourth this Saturday against Temple whose rush defense is at the bottom in the country against the run.

Comes down to earth Edwards logged seven rushes for 30 yards during Saturday's 48-14 victory versus Florida Atlantic.

Impact Edwards had 106 yards on 21 carries against Duke on Sept. 21. Against Florida Atlantic running backs Durell Robinson and Mel Brown did the bulk of the damage with 156 rushing yards each. The sophomore will get his chance to be on top of the Huskies' running backs on Sept. 28 against Buffalo. The Bulls run defense is in the middle of the pack in the country against the ground game.

SEPTEMBER 22 • ROTOWIRE

Collects pair of TDs in win Edwards had 65 total yards, but more importantly a pair of touchdowns in the Connecticut 63-14 win over FCS Merrimack on Sept. 7.

Impact The redshirt sophomore had a one-yard rushing touchdown and a 50-yard touchdown reception in the victory. Despite taking a back seat to redshirt freshman Durell Robinson (who has 128 rushing yards on 17 carries in two games this season), Edwards (47 rushing yards on 11 carries in two games this season) is still listed as the number one running back on the depth chart. The Huskies running game might struggle against Duke this Saturday. The Blue Devils defense against the run was top 50 last season.

Participating in practice Edwards (toe) is participating in fall practice, Dom Amore of the Hartford Courant reports.

Impact Edwards missed UConn's spring game, but appears to be back at full capacity as he's reportedly participating in practice. The tailback ran for 618 yards and four touchdowns last season on a healthy 5.0 yards-per-carry, and should be a significant factor in the Huskies' backfield this fall.
