Solid effort in narrow loss Ward was 32-for-48 passing for 317 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions during Saturday's 24-21 loss versus Washington. He also had 11 rushes for -19 yards. Impact Ward directed the Cougars' pass-happy offense and almost came away with the upset. Unfortunately, the loss ends Wsshington State's bowl aspirations, a disappointing end to a program that showed immense promise at the beginning of the season. Many expect Ward to return next season due to the logjam of quarterbacks entering the NFL Draft, and his stock would be much higher if he waited. Ward finished with 3,736 yards, 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions with an additional eight touchdowns on the ground. His yardage totals ranked seventh in the nation, just behind four Heisman candidates.
