Impact After receiving at least 10 carries in each of the previous five games, Norton saw just five in Thursday's blowout loss. Norton will likely still receive more carries than Wilson, but Wilson has proven to be the more efficient back.

He was out-shined by Hahsaun Wilson's 164-yard, three touchdown performance, but Norton has still received a slightly higher workload so far this season. The pair of backs are clearly splitting the backfield, and Wilson has proven to have the higher upside early on.

Although he looked good on Saturday, he will need to prove it again this Saturday at Rice to be trusted for the remainder of the season.

Impact Norton rushed for just 1.1 yards per carry Saturday, a brutal way to start his 49ers career after transferring from Iowa State. Even though he started in Saturday's loss, he may have lost out on that job after a rough season opener.
