It was a windy day at Oklahoma State, so that's why there wasn't a lot of offensive production through the air for the Cyclones. The number one wideout for Iowa State has 32 catches (on 62 targets) for 500 yards and two touchdowns. Iowa State will finish the year in a bowl game.

Impact Sowell led the way for the Cyclones with a team-high eight targets. Iowa State's passing game has struggled in 2025 as Sowell has dealt with drops and QB Rocco Becht has been inaccurate. Becht has nine interceptions over his last seven games and has struggled to find his groove. On the season, Sowell has 26 catches (on 53 targets) for 386 yards and a touchdown. Impact Sowell recorded a season-high 12 targets as Iowa State fell in a closely contested game with Arizona State. It will be interesting to see if he can build on this performance and be one of Iowa State's top playmakers down the stretch. They'll play a good TCU squad next week.

With Iowa State's defense struggling of late, Sowell could continue this pace and be more productive in the second half of the season. Iowa State will play at Colorado next week.

Impact Sowell entered the year as Iowa State's anticipated top receiver, however, the elements had another idea in the opener. His presence was neutralized as it turned out the ball was quite slippery with four total fumbles lost in the game. This resulted in the bulk of the production going to running backs and tight ends. While younger receivers did produce the touchdowns for Iowa State, there wasn't a lot of passing production in general in the game. It's expected that Sowell will be much more involved against South Dakota next week.
