Although his defense didn't do him any favors against an inferior opponent, Sorsby flirted with 400 receiving yards and scored two four total touchdowns. It's an encouraging sign for the Bearcats, who endured a disappointing 2023 campaign.

Brendan Sorsby - Officially listed as starter Sorsby is listed as the Bearcats' starting quarterback on their Week 1 depth chart, Neil Meyer of Rivals.com reports.

Impact This comes as little surprise, as Sorsby was expected to be the starter dating back to midway through fall camp. Still, it was a competition that played out late into the offseason, but the gunslinger ultimately beat out Brady Lichtenberg for the starting role. Sorsby is an Indiana transfer, where in 2023 he tossed for 1,587 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions while tacking on 286 yards rushing and four scores on the ground.
