Impact Bailey's 272 yards were easily the most he's thrown for in his young career. The true freshman had averaged 156 passing yards through three games, but he proved he can air it out in the loss to Wake Forest. It was also his first game with multiple passing touchdowns. Despite the loss, NC State saw good things from its true freshman signal caller.

He barely surpassed 100 yards through the air but still completed 65 percent of his passes, threw a touchdown and protected the football against NIU. The true freshman has been serviceable, but don't expect him to pour on the production anytime soon.

Impact Bailey got off to a slow start as Clemson came out of the gates red hot, and was never able to truly ignite the offense in a blowout defeat in Death Valley. The quarterback certainly wasn't abysmal, but North Carolina State was simply overmatched against the Tigers and the true freshman gunslinger couldn't do enough through the air to keep pace. If Grayson McCall (undisclosed) remains out, expect Bailey to continue to be the starter for the Wolfpack.
