Leaving Cal Harris has entered the NCAA transfer portal, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.

Impact Harris will look for opportunities in the portal after spending one season with California. The 6-foot-4 redshirt sophomore, who started his career at Ohio, has thrown for 1,009 yards (96-of-177), five touchdowns and five interceptions across three collegiate seasons, adding on 272 rushing yards and three scores on the ground.

Mediocre showing in bowl Harris was 13-for-20 passing for 109 yards during Wednesday's 24-13 defeat to UNLV. He also had 12 rushes for 23 yards.

Impact Selected as California's starting quarterback over Fernando Mendoza (transfer portal, committed to Indiana) and Chandler Rogers (hamstring), Harris could have significantly increased his stock during the 2024 LA Bowl. However, the quarterback's performance still leaves more questions than answers concerning how well he can perform.

Showing improvement in camp Harris nearly completed all his passes during Monday's practice, and he's showing continual improvement during camp according to The Athens Post.

Impact Harris is behind Kurtis Rourke and Armani Rogers on the depth chart. It will take an injury to one of them for him to see much playing time this season, but there's definite promise here.
