Headed to Cleveland The Indians have selected Tucker with the 23rd overall pick in the 2020 first-year player draft. Impact There are reports that Tucker added weight and successfully remade his swing this offseason, in an effort to unlock power - his swing plane used to be pretty level. Prior to the adjustments, he projected to be at least an above-average hitter, and now he has a chance to develop above-average power as well. The younger brother of Pirates shortstop Cole Tucker, Carson is a good athlete who should stick at shortstop long term. In addition to reports of an improved swing and added strength, Tucker also reportedly got faster - he used to grade out as a 50 or 55 runner and could be a plus runner now. If these reported improvements are legitimate, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound shortstop could have played his way into the top half of the first round if he had been able to play out his final season as an Arizona prep.
