Impact It was Bailey's Colorado State debut and he was the clear leader of the Ram backfield. However, Bailey was not efficient and this was against an FCS opponent. Bailey may be the starter, but if Colorado State struggles to generate push up front, he could struggle to produce.

Justice McCoy - Switching to receiver McCoy has been moved to receiver after spending his first three seasons at Colorado State as a quarterback, Kevin Lytle of the Coloradoan reports.

Impact McCoy completed 2-of-4 passes for 20 yards and two interceptions during his time under center for the Rams. It clearly didn't work out for him at the position although it's unclear how the team plans to incorporate him in this year's offense as a receiver.

Matt Valecce - Ruled out for the season Valecce is out for the 2021 season after suffering a lower-body injury in practice earlier this week, Kevin Lytle of the Coloradoan reports.

Impact Valecce was expected to challenge Todd Centeio for the starting job and was someone the Rams were hoping could come in and mentor some of their younger quarterbacks. The redshirt junior spent three years at Boston College before coming over to Colorado State and completed just 3-of-7 passes for 18 yards during his time there. Expect for Jonah O'Brien and Evan Olaes to compete for the top backup spot behind Centeio with Valecce out of the picture.

Impact Bailey finished out his third season at Boston College with 127 carries for 503 yards and seven scores but saw his usage wane a bit down the stretch, carrying the rock a combined 17 times over the last two games. He decided to enter the transfer portal following the season and has apparently found a new home with the Rams, where he should have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
