Impact Connecticut was overmatched Saturday and Zergiotis had little chance of success. He completed half of his passes at 2.5 yards per pass attempt. Zergiotis should have smoother sailing against Holy Cross but the schedule after that is daunting.

Impact Saturday marked Connecticut's first game since 2019. Mensah paced the backfield with 11 carries but the UConn line was unable to generate much push. Connecticut finished the day with 35 yards on 31 rushing attempts. Mensah stands to see plenty of volume moving forward but Connecticut will likely be overmatched most weeks.

Impact Krajewski and Jack Zergiotis have been battling hard for the starting job and the coaching staff still has yet to decide on a QB1 for the opener. It's unclear when the final decision will be made. Zergiotis has a little more playing experience, but Krajewski also did see time back in the 2019 campaign.

Impact Zergiiotis saw time as a starter in the 2019 campaign and did not play in 2020. He is in a fierce QB competition that still has yet to be decided with Steven Krajewski. The starter may very well not be known until one of them steps onto the field on Saturday, but both playing would also not be a surprise.

Impact Rose underwent pectoral surgery in December but is now back in time for the start of the year. He had 27 catches for 261 yards and two scores in 2019.

Robert Burns - Moving on to UConn Burns has elected to transfer from Miami to UConn, per his personal Twitter account.

Impact Burns registered just 16 rush attempts for 63 yards during the 2020 seasons and didn't top 29 carries during his three-plus seasons with the Hurricanes. He will now join the Huskies with hopes of carving out a more consistent role but may not have a clear path to the starting gig immediately this season with Kevin Mensah still on the roster. However, he could challenge for the starting spot in 2022.
