Impact Mensah played well Thursday, but his production did not reflect it. He completed over 72 percent of his passes and threw for over 200 yards, yet his lack of touchdowns gave him a quiet performance. This is not all that surprising given the Green Wave's strong ground game, but it's just further evidence that Mensah is a better quarterback than he is a fantasy asset.

Impact Mensah had a solid outing Saturday, especially given he only attempted 13 passes. He tossed three touchdowns for the second time this season, however he also threw his third interception of the campaign. It was an efficient day for him, but the fact that the Green Wave ran the ball 47 times out of 60 offensive plays is a bad sign for Mensah. The Green Wave have larger aspirations than Mensah putting up big numbers, so he will likely not be the best option moving forward given how run-heavy the offense is.

Struggles versus Rice Mensah was 12-for-25 passing for 152 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 24-10 win over Rice. He also had five rushes for -11 yards.

Impact Mensah was unable to get going Saturday as he completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes and threw for under 175 yards for the fourth time in his last five games. He also ran for a season-low -11 yards. Although he did enough to earn his team yet another win, his lack of production during many of those wins has been concerning. Although he faces some favorable matchups coming up, it's hard to trust him to produce when the offense is so focused on running the ball with Makhi Hughes.

Impact Mensah had an efficient passing day Saturday, however his services weren't needed much as the game got out of hand quickly. Despite his team scoring 37 points in the first half, Mensah was not involved in any of the scoring. He opened up the second half with a touchdown pass to Yulkeith Brown and was taken out of the game shortly after. Although he is clearly talented and can put up big numbers when it's needed of him, he may not get always enough opportunities if the Green Wave continues blowing out conference foes by running the ball.

Impact Mensah was dominant in Saturday's blowout win over South Florida as he completed over 80 percent of his passes for 326 yards and a season-high three touchdowns. It was his second game this season with over 325 passing yards, and he also tied a season high with 17 yards on the ground. It was easily his most impressive performance of the season and bodes very well for the rest of his season. Next up he has a favorable matchup at UAB before a bye week in Week 7.

Impact Mensah was not asked to do much in Saturday's win and ended up with a very quiet outing. He failed to throw for 100 yards, although he did throw one touchdown and did not turn the ball over for the first time since Week 1. He was also hindered by the fact that backup quarterback Ty Thompson rushed seven times for 23 yards and a touchdown, taking an opportunity away from Mensah to score. Mensah is clearly not the focal point of this offense, and in games where the Green Wave take an early lead, he may struggle to produce.

Impact Mensah struggled versus a solid Oklahoma defense Saturday as he completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes and turned the ball over twice for the second straight week. He tossed a touchdown to Makhi Hughes and had another chance to taken away, as backup Ty Thompson came into the game and threw a seven-yard touchdown late in the second quarter. Mensah's two toughest games are now behind him and he will look to get back on track Saturday at Louisiana-Lafayette.

Impact Mensah put together an impressive performance -- with the exception of a couple plays -- as he nearly lead the Green Wave to a massive upset. He threw for nearly 350 yards and tossed two touchdowns, both to Alex Bauman. His performance was not without costly mistakes though. With the game tied midway through the fourth quarter, he lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown by the Wildcats. Then, on the final drive he threw an interception in the redzone to clinch the game for Kansas State. While it was not a perfect performance, the freshman showed massive upside and clearly has the tools to put up elite numbers when conference play begins.

Impact Mensah was surprisingly named as the team's starting quarterback ahead of Thursday's contest, beating out last season's backup Kai Horton and Oregon transfer Ty Thompson to the starting job. He proved why on Thursday, tossing for over 17 yards per attempt and throwing two touchdowns. While both Thompson and Horton got some playing time, after a strong debut it appears that Mensah will be the starting quarterback for the Green Wave.

The move comes as a bit of a surprise, as Mensah was a late addition to the position battle, but the 6-foot-3 freshman will get his chance to shine in week 1.
